Firstly if you want something super simplistic then maybe Family Historian is a bit powerful for you, having said that you can start entering data right away as the program is very intuitive. Those more powerful features will always be there behind the scenes as you grow in curiosity and confidence. I found the customer support very quick and helpful and there is an excellent User Group where I can usually just search and find a previous answer to my question which I like for late nights needing an answer now.
The flip side negative review I posted was for Rootsmagic which has gone downhill as a product, is still full of problems, deleted their online forums, no longer offer phone support and use Facebook as their support platform which I did not find a mature, friendly or helpful platform and with little moderation.
In summary, I would recommend Family Historian Genealogy Software to a friend.
